15 Gifts for Movie Lovers Glued To The Big Screen
Everything they need for watch parties & solo viewings.
There are two types of people in the world: Television series enthusiasts and movie lovers. For the fans who fill theater seats, stream hours upon hours of both the backlog and new films, and whose body composition is made up of 90% concession stand popcorn, this list is for you.
Admittedly, I don’t watch too many movies these days. Not because I don’t want to, but because, with an infant, free time is limited. To fill that void, I started listening to re-watch and re-cap podcasts, which is how I stumbled upon the “What We’re Watching” pod.
The “What We’re Watching” podcast is hosted by Megan and Jeni, two friends who love movies and get a thrill deep-diving into the behind-the-scenes of a film. They especially love an early 2000s throwback; from the first episode I listened to, they hooked me.
Here’s how they operate: Every Wednesday, Megan and Jeni upload a new episode summarizing one movie (or show), and providing listeners with plenty of backstory on the cast, as well as some fun facts about the program. In the two years they’ve been up and running, Megan and Jeni have covered iconic teen comedies like Mean Girls, Bring It On, and John Tucker Must Die, as well as timeless classics, such as You’ve Got Mail and When Harry Met Sally.
From rom-coms to seasonal favorites and nostalgic flicks, “What We’re Watching” is the podcast to binge and tune into every week to fill that sleepover and a movie night with your best girls’ void. They’re the experts as far as I’m concerned, so when I decided to put together a list of gifts for movie lovers, I knew I had to tap these ladies to weigh in with their best recs, too!
Ahead, Megan, Jeni, and I collaborated on a list of 15 gift ideas for movie lovers that really run the gamut, for every kind of watcher. Whether they prefer heading to the movie theater or Netflix and chilling in the comfort of their home, are serious movie buffs, or casual viewers, we’ve got you covered.
Let us know in the comments below which of these 15 gifts for movie lovers you loved most, and if there are any additional presents for movie fans the Beyond My Byline community should know about for holiday 2024! And, if you don’t see an item on this list that would match your personality or taste, shoot me an email. I’ll offer some personalized recs based on your specifications.

Unpaid Movie Critic Sweatshirt

You know the type: They’re breaking down all the best and worst parts of a movie before you’ve even had a chance to see it. They’re chock-full of spoilers, and should probably work for Rotten Tomatoes. This sweatshirt was made for them - whoever they are, thanks to its unisex design.

“This cocktail book is such a cute gift idea for anyone who unapologetically loves a good chick flick (like us!) or always hosts girls’ night. Netflix Subscription

If they’d rather stay home than hit the theater, a subscription to a streaming service, like Netflix, is a great alternative to tickets. This way, they have a bunch of films to choose from and can enjoy them in their pajamas, on their couch, eating snacks that probably won’t cost them $12 per item.

(Note: You have to be logged in to a free Letterboxd account to gift a membership to someone else.)” - Megan & Jeni
Rosehill Cottage Christmas Movie Wall Print
$15, etsy.com
Do you recognize this house? Holiday movie lovers likely will. It’s the scenic cottage Cameron Diaz vacations in for the holidays while Kate Winslet takes her mansion in California. What I love about this print is, that the reference isn’t obvious, unless you’re familiar with the movie. It just looks like a beautiful wintertime painting, so it‘s a great gift for movie buffs and art enthusiasts alike.
I love the popcorn bowl and the house print! Great ideas!!!
Love these! I may gift myself those Aerie pants ;) Merry Everything & happy, healthy New Year!
