I started Sunday Surveys with a questionnaire jam-packed with prompts for book recommendations. It was great fun. I love to chat about books and do so often on my little slice of the internet.
For this week’s survey, however, I thought I’d bring it back to the good old days, in which we’d all flock to MySpace notes and answer random questions pertaining to ourselves. They always felt like icebreakers to me, so I thought they’d be fun to fill out, and appropriate since I’ve gained some new subscribers over the last few weeks!
FYI - I gathered these questions from Pinterest! If you have any questions you’d like me to answer, drop them in the comment section below. Likewise, I’d love to hear your answers to these questions, so I can get to know a little bit about you! Please feel free to copy and paste and fill them out in the comment section below.
What is your birthday and zodiac sign?
October 27th! I am a Scorpio.
Are you outgoing or shy?
I’m outgoing around those closest to me or around people I get a good vibe from. I’m shy around people I don’t know or who I can’t get a good read on.
Can you describe yourself in three words?
Passionate, loyal, hard-working.
What is your favorite movie? Your favorite TV show?
My favorite TV show is Gilmore Girls. That’s easy! My favorite movie… I have a few. My top are Stuck in Love, Little Women (the 1994 version), and Harry Potter.
If you had to give up one of your five senses, what would it be?
I already lost my sense of smell when I was a kid.

Currently, my favorite song is “That’s Now How This Works” by Charlie Puth, but I’ve also been very into “The Call” by the Backstreet Boys, thanks to the awesome boy band throwback playlist YouTube Music made for me.
What is your favorite season?
Fall. By far.
What is your favorite type of food?
Mexican-style food.
Why did you choose your profession?
I’ve always known I wanted to be a writer, but because selling books isn’t exactly something that happens overnight, I went into journalism and landed in the lifestyle/health reporting space.
If you could speak another language, which would you choose?
American Sign Language. I took a class in college and absolutely loved it.
What does your ideal day look like?
A few years ago, I had an ideal birthday. It was a rainy day, and in the morning my husband got me a bagel from my favorite shop and a latte from Starbucks. I think The afternoon was spent browsing Barnes and Noble and coming home with a bag of new titles. I had sushi for dinner and watched Practical Magic while picking at Halloween candy for dessert.
What is something about yourself that you are proud of?
I’m proud of the fact that if I want something, I go after it. If I want to try something, I do. I might have to hype myself up a bit (or a lot), but I try not to hold myself back.
If you could master any subject, what would it be?
I mean, literature (Jane Austen studies would be cool), but also science. I loved learning about anatomy and genes and physical science. All of that good stuff.
What is something you’d like to achieve this year?
I’d like to complete the first draft of my new manuscript. Or, at the very least, get halfway through it.
What was the last thing you ate?
A slide of Paige Lindgren’s cottage cheese key lime pie recipe. It’s so easy to make and delicious.
Could eat Mexican food every single day 🌮
Your ideal day sounds about the same as mine! Treats, shopping, reading, dinner, and TV -- what more could you ask for?!
